Master System...How do I play on Genesis/32X/SegaCD?

Post by MM007 »

I heard that the CDX portable plays Master System games. Can I get my non-CDX to play then? I have a Genesis, a 32X, and a SegaCD.... My Master System got fried... *cries*

You want to look for the Power Base. It goes into the cart slot and then the SMS game goes into its slot, its a little like the Master Gear for the Game Gear.

Really? ^^ That's cool! Does it use a lot of custom circuitry?

I know the SMS and GG are like NES to Famicom...bit the Genesis is a different generation gaming machine designed for more advanced games with more color, sound, and speed. It is likely to be a tad more complex...

I private Messeged SegaSonic Fan, and hopefully will get a reply...

I would love to see a portable Saturn, and love his CDX...

I wish I could find a CDX, but I probably would not have the heart to open it....or the wallet. ^^

If only the normal Genesis, 32X, and SegaCD could be shrunk down...or placed onto a chip? ^^

Well I've taken my Sega CD apart (didnt work anyways) and the mobo is a little smaller then the genesis v.2. If you cut the expantion slot on the Sega CD down (so its like sitting on the mobo) and you can pull the CD accemble closer. If you want to keep it small just use mini-cds (most Sega CD games are not over 100mb) It will be smaller, maybe 2/3 larger then the Sega CDX. Just remember that you wont have to worry about the heat issure with the CDX.

Did you try the potentiometer trick for the lens on SegaSonicFan's site?

Who would have thought the sega genesis really does have a built in emulator. Guess that mean the Genesis does have the abilty to run Game Gear games.
