Finished my NESp!!

Post by minkster »

After about 5 months of working on and off this project...its finally complete! I'd like to call it the Minktendo :P It has a retro feel to it in my opinion and the controls are quite comfortable. Here are a few pics with my crappy camera phone..enjoy

One of these days I will take better pics with a camera...I don't have a digital one so it might be a while before I'd get them developed.

EDIT: I also want to say a special thanks to mattb419. He helped me figure out why I wasn't getting the correct voltages and power to my NES. With a couple of fixes of better connected grounds and some rewiring, he got it to work beautifully. I thank him for that because I might have given up on it if it wasn't for him.

Haha velcro works wonders! About the cartridge lid...I ended up getting a NES for free which didn't have the cartridge lid. So I ended up making the case out of it, and then the NES died (I think the reason was because a while ago I was using a 40-watt soldering iron and fried the board while prying open the RF box) But now I have a new nes in my portable... and I could probably take that lid off that case

Thanks everyone! (and the cookies  ) I have one problem with my phono jack when I plug in a dc adapter at 9v...the system turns on and I see a title screen, and then it shorts out. The battery works fine though, so I'm guessing its a loose solder connection or a connection touching another one. I'll post new news if I figure it out.

Good News! Its neither a loose solder connection or a short! The DC adaptor was too low on mA. The reason for this was because I never did the LED mod...I like the way the screen looks as is. So anywho, I went to radioshack to find the right kind of adaptor and they were kind enough to let me plug it in. And let me tell ya, a lot of people wo worked at radio shack were drooling over it and thought it was a really awesome mod

So now, that makes my portable in 100% working condition :)
