2 player radica Cartridge slot?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

2 player radica Cartridge slot?

Post by Extreme_Jesus »

Quick question:

Is the there any difference in the ROM to cartrige slot pinouts for the 2 player radicas (street fighter 2 and sensible soccer)? If they are different does anyone know the differences?

thanks in advance

Probably not, but I don't know. I put a cartridge slot on a radica, but I sold it to a friend. I'm warning you that it's a pain in the ass to add the slot, and even If you do, A regular Genesis is better.

just get the Genesis 3, I'm in the proccess of making a portable out of it, and it's a lot easier than my radica was to make.

You know what, screw making a portable genesis. I can almost garuntee that it would cost less just to buy a nomad which is garunteed to be reliable.

To be honest...I do think there is a difference in the pinouts because I already soldered a cart onto three (3) SF2/GnG radicas (even onto the traces) and nothing started up at all. I'm going to attempt soldering onto the one ben used the same way i'm doing this now and I'll definitely be able to let you know once complete because I'm doing everything the same way.

The last one I soldered onto, I CAREFULLY took off the rom chip and soldered the cart on...nothing, then I soldered the chip back on and the system started up...this took me literally 5 days to do because I didn't want to waste another dollar working on this damn project. I went out and bought the first one (w/ sonic 1) and on tuesday, i'll solder the cart again.

@turbo tax 1.0 - I WILL FINISH MY PORTABLE!!! =(

@extreme_jesus - Hey, if you get it going, then I definitely did something wrong three times in a row. At least you have been warned on this project when soldering to the cart and board. Take your time though, that's the best advice I can give to you.
