Does anyone know how to open the n64 without the special tool, or destroying the case?

Good pliers and lots of patience :D
I'd recomend moddifying a regular screw driver for use as a spacer driver to open it though.

Look on doomportables.org they have a section that talks about getting those screws removed.

I guess I'm just going to cut it open and force myself to make something.

the only thing they say that sounds like it might work for the n64 is to melt a pen, but they didn't even say what that was for.

if you've got a dremel and are sure you're not gonna put your N64 back together, I'd say just drill of the screw heads :).....don't worry too much about hitting the board, though, there's shielding on it :). be careful, though, I once accidentally cut into the board about a half inch, screwed it up completly :(...
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!
