SNESP almost complete....

I just finished getting everything together and I drew up a design in paint.
The overall dimmensions are H=6.75", W=6.5", and D=.75".
The controller ports will be raised out of the case so I can keep it thin.
Also, I'll have the battery be outside the case.

hmmm.... I made a mock up of the case with masking tape...
I found out that the only thing I need to worry about is stability in the cartridge. Every few times while playing it it got bumped and messed up the game.

How are you building the case, like using vacuum-forming, or just molding it, etc.?

The pictures aren't working on my computer so if the answer to my question lies in the pictures you'll know why I'm asking this.

Yeah, for some reason the pictures aren't working right. I posted them on my website now.
I'll probably make a vacumme formed case later in the year, but for right now I'm going to use a project box from radio shack and use the frankenstein technique....

I'm using an original snes and its around 6x6.25.

What kind of screen are you using?

Also, you said this on your site:

"I've had one problem so far, and that's the cartridge port. I need a way to stabalize the cart when its plugged in."

Here's a suggestion: after you cut the slot for the cartridge in the back of the case, you could try attaching some pieces of thin angle aluminum around the edges of the slot so they butt up against the sides of the cartridge. I haven't tried it myself, but I think that's how mine will end up.

Completed!!
I built a temperary case last nite out of the bottom of the snes and a small piece of wood. It works great except for the large size of the case.
I'm opening it back up to replace the snes controller buttons with tactile switches that I bought so I have better controlls. Also, I'm going to start trying to find places in my area that supply good clay and plastic for when I decide to build a vacuume form.

well, I'm almost done rewiring the controller. I have to go to radio shack later today to pick up 4 more switches for the controller. So far I have everything wired except for the L, R, X, and Y buttons. I'm wiring directly to the chip, so I'm only going to keep around .25x1 inch of the original controller board.
Since I bought a used lcd though, every once in a while the screen gets a little fuzzy. Of course, like all good electronics, all I have to do is smack it and it fixes itself....
