the cast may be thick but that is probably not how thick the case will be. the way i do it is make the cast thicker than the case is intended to be so and i just sand the case down so i dont end up with a case that is to thin. and i think thats is the way most people do it. i made the mistake of a cast being to thin on my snesp mkI and i was royally screwed and had to cut up a failed case that was curved around the edges.

Its really not that big, its going to be around 1.75" thick. Thats the same thickness as my DCp2.0. The reason I made the mold 2.75" thick is because you always want it at lease a 1" thicker then it needs to be.That way when you vacuum form it you can cut off the part that always flars out on the bottom. When I vacuum form this I'll show a picture of it and another picture of it when I cut it.

This question may sound kind of dumb but when you make a mold for a case to be vacuum formed, do you add in the holes for the controls/speakers? Or would you do this after you vacuum form it with plastic? Overall, what you've done so far looks great  Keep up the good work.

I think those are drilled/cut out later. Everyone's cases seem to look like that.
