a PS2p is probably one of the most difficult portables around and not to mention that you would use an old PS2, im not trying to be negative but chances are it would be way to difficult

It would be a heck of a lot easier if you used a slim PS2. Try something easier before you attempt such a tricky system. Like a NOACp, PS1p, or SNESp would be much easier and you would likely learn a lot.

and it's easier to get help when people can understand you if you don't use AIM speak

What wires do you need to connect? And that is one of the mos foolish thing for a beginner to do. And no offense to you but I doubt you have even soldered in your life. Oh and please no AIM speak.

ok. Sorry all. Yes, Yes it's true I never soldered in my life. Thats why I am asking for some help. No need to be all fuzzy. Just beacuse it may seem dificult I dont care. I still want to try. Just help. Lastly about the wires. Since ladyada's game girl is popular here you might now about it. If you have read the guide notice how she said that the wire connection is purple2k and all that crap. I want to know what that means. p.s. so what if I am a newbie, am pretty sure you all were newbies at something in some point of your lives aswell.

Sorry kid some things you'll have to do on your own. Allmost nobody has made a ps2 portable. And I think nobody has made a original ps2 portable.

you can cut down the size of a original PS2 , but a slim PS2 would be better for a PS2p

I have made a PS@ portable, I used a slimline (MUCH easier than using the older chunky ps2) and actually mine is in a bit more of a laptop format...*shrugs* figured most of it on my own, but i referenced both Ben's project and SegaSonicFan's plans. You might try starting there.
Why make a portable? Because I want to be able to game cordless.

and here's my PS2p !!

Seriously just go and buy a "Used" PS2 slim, its about $100. With that you get a nice system that only needs an input of 8.5v, rather then 12v and 5v for the big PS2. You don't have to fuddle with a disc tray. You can't cut the board down the only big PS2 that you can really use for this is the v.3, but we come back to the whole power issue.

Thanks Minkster, figured I'd use the extra space in the top for the batteries and battery controler board. :) No LED mod on the screen and I get about 3 hours of playtime on it :D Next paycheck, I'll see if i can order that Retrocon from madcatz.
