Official Gamecube IDE/USB interface thread (PROJECT BEGUN!)
Moderator:Moderators
Hi, im still working on but it has slowed down abit because i've moved outta home and yer. CF cards are the way to go for me but a HDD could also be good. I just bought 2 2GB Cf cards today from the camera store and my friend will rpobably do the PCB for it also. How do i open the schematics for the PCB that was in the download file from ModThatCube? Also i have altered the design of the board a little that also has a sd card slot for memory card purposes. One thing got my mind tho, will the board work for all three Cubes, US, EUR and Brazil? One last thing, how to i rip a GCM images from the disc without the Broadband adapter or is that the only way. This is so i can test it when complete. Cheers ^_^
Oh. and TOOHF i will make a custom one for you with IDE instead of CF free of charge for you and Electric Rain. Also you could run the HDD of the GC power supply.

I've lost track of a lot of information we've gathered in this thread, but I think you need this to view the schematics.

Hey, I stumbled across this thread, and I was wondering if anyone had thought about putting a hard drive inside of a GC in place of the DVD drive....
Hey guys, I'm not dead....yet!
Yes, finals did end a while back....and then I switched jobs....and then I started summer classes....and then I had summer finals....and then fall classes are going to start....and then, well, you get the idea
Sorry, I simply haven't dedicated the time this project deserves, and I really apologize for that. I want you all to know that I am still very much interested in seeing this completed, but I'm not sure how much time I can spend on it currently with my current job and schooling. Actually, all of my "fun" projects have been put on hold
It looks like some of you have progressed quite a bit, which is really great to see! Can't remember who posted it, but I am also willing to purchase a sizeable quantity of (working versions) of these. I'd do my own, but that's kinda out of the question right now, and I'd REALLY like to stay a part of this project.
Anyway, glad to have caught up on the thread and be (somewhat) back. (Btw Electric Rain, I wasn't ignoring you; I had it on my list to send you a reply. Sorry!)

@R3ap3r
Yes, the broadband adapter is the only way to get the images off of the GC. If you don't have one, I'll send you mine (for a discount off of a completed card, of course )

I know what drives you are talking about. There are 2 LG drives that raw dump the discs (no firmware hack). I just didnt want to buy a new DVD drive just to dump games. What about the Qoob Pro modchip can that dump though USB? Currently i have completed the new design and all i have to do now is remap the schematics. I may take a little time because i going on holidays for a couple of days. Cheers^_^

Well, I could be wrong again, but I don't believe the Qoob chip lets you dump disk images via USB (or at least I haven't figured out how to do it on mine....).
