Complete Super Joy 3 Pinout

Post by G-force » Fri Jul 22, 2005 2:26 pm

And it's easy to understand too! Ben's was nice but it dosn't show where the pins actually are, or tell where the lightgun pins (blue and purple) went to. Just a few minutes ago I did some testing and I figured it out. It was pretty neat to play Duck Hunt on a big TV and see it on a small LCD at the same time :D

Anyways here it is, hope it can help somebody.

Sorry for the cruddy image quality, it got compressed a bit too much. But hey, it gets the job done.

Ignore the two short wires on the cartridge pins. That was the wire for disabling the built in games.

Yes, but if you look at it, you will notice that none of them have the P2 controller info. This one does :P

I'm thinking of a "light pen" for portables that uses the original zapper lens (or at least a portion of it) and the guts so that you can play duck hunt on a portable. It seems like overkill to drag a 2' long plastic gun that resembles a weapon (you could get pulled over by a police officer) to shoot at a 3" screen. The trigger could be placed the same way as a tablet stylus mouse button.

You can't use a lightgun on a LCD screen. Only normal TV's. I don't really know why but you can't. Other than that your idea is really cool :P

…only it would require many hours of programming and circuit building. I don't understand why a light gun wouldn't work on an LCD. A light gun senses the color of a dot of light. All it would require is proper calibration.

NES controller

Post by bioniclebert » Sat Jul 23, 2005 11:09 am

I bought this same version, 3, and I am unable to get the NES controller to do what I want. When i connect Latch and P1 data, all the buttons get pressed, but the NES controller does nothing at all. I was wondering if anyone was able to get it working With this version, and how.

Maybe your chip wiring is wrong. I don't know.

Hey, do you guys think this is good enought to go on doomportables? The only one there is incomplete. No P2 info.

yeah, PoD hasn't had many updates since we haven't had much to update, due to lack of a good message setup. That will soon change, now that we have this new setup :)
