I have also found the small AEI screens can run off as little as 3.5 volts. The drain off 3 AA's is about .1" volts per hour.
Testing this for possible Li-Ion powered nPods.

That screen you have there Ben that thing sips amps. That would be an awsome screen for anything from the N64 and older.

Imagine the battery life you could get with a Li-ION, that screen and a NOAC (which I think consumes <100ma?)!!
But if you plan on mass producing it, you may want to stick with AAs.
