Finally Finished my NesP! problems UPDATE 9/5/05

Post by machina28 » Fri Sep 02, 2005 2:49 am

Hello. Bought the book a few weeks back and after 2 looong weeks of soldering and cutting and bending and etc..i finally finished the Handbuilt NESP! HOWEVER! as luck may have it, i'm having some problems with it.

Now, the unit is getting power and the screen is turning on with leds and all, but it's flashing like this sort of light black and dark black, back and forth, back and forth. everything else seems to be werking, but i'm getting no game. i thought it was a cartridge problem, but after cleaning it, and the 72 pin connector, i'm still getting nothing..even when i adjust my volume controls and brightness, those two green features on the ps one screen sort of "bend/distorts" with the picture, when it flashes. the ONLY thing that i have not yet hooked up yet is the actual built in contoller to the nes motherboard, but i figure give it a try now, i just won't have any controls to the game yet...i just wanted to see it it'll even work.all the components are there and soldered right, i just have those 5 wires from handbuilt nes contoller (both right and left boards), to the nes motherboard left....should i hook these wires up and give it a try? i doubt tho' it would even make a difference...would it? HELP!!!

Sounds like it may be the lockout chip of the nes.

what kind of battery are you using anyway? can it overcharge?, if it can't then leave it for several hours(3-5)

i'll charge today as see what happens..
