PS1 screen ribbon cable

At the part where its talking about removing the ribbon cable tab popping the brown part up etc.... Long story short, I broke the brown piece off, and the book says don't woory too much just hot glue the ribbon cable there. So does it mean to place hot glue on the connecter and ribbon cable?(where they attach), or to hot glue the brown piece back on and then fit it in? I'm thinking the first one, but with a flimsy(and irreplacable) piece as the screen ribbon cable I want to be 100% sure

i think it means put the cable in then put the brown thing on top then hold it there and hot glue it
