Introducing! The Famigogo!!!

Post by Mikeyman64 »

Yes! It's DONE!!! My NOACp christened Famigogo. It is my first portable though of all by my self (knowing that I'm the only one I know that knows how to do this stuff) and I am very proud of it. It's made of one of those 3rd party NES dust cases and some handles from the MAXX player I used. It runs off of either 12V DC from the wall, or a Sony Infolithium L type 7.2V (witch i'm getting a charger for any day now). The only pooie thing about it is that the onboard ~85 games chip is messed up, so only NES/Famicom games for me (or other power joy carts). Here's a few pics:

Not yet for NES carts, still working on that. But Fami carts stay put pretty well.

Nicely done! I like the layout of the whole thing, not to mention those crazy cool speaker holes! May your Final Fantasies and Legends of Zelda follow you with pride.

May I make one suggestion, though? You may want to install a plastic/metal piece where the NES game slides down to secure it. I designed my friend one of these the same way (with the converter) and he it really sucks when the cart gets bumped and your game locks up. He put in a holder, and now it works MUCH better, IE more reliable.

When I first saw this thread I thought it was called the flamingo. You should paint it pink... :P

Very nice, compact, job.

May I suggest why the control looks so...different. With the 4 trinangles? Maybe you should put NES buttons on. That's my suggestion though.
