OK, so I unscrewed everything on the controller (outer shell anyway), but when I got to lift it, nothing?!!! It just won't come off for some reason.

Wait to get the screws, since I had not a small screwdriver, I used a soldering iron to go into the hole, and start melting the plastic around it and then scoop it out. Is that bad, and the controller still works btw.

check under stickers and everyting? try prying it with a screwdriver you might have fused the 2 halves together with the iron

why does it seem like its so hard for people to open these things

isint there just those 6 screws? just unscrew them all and pull it apart.

This may sound odd, but could the iorn have melted the two halves of the case together somehow?
