With Metroid... I stumbled across it. Yes, it has 2 screens! The top one was the POV game screen, with the bottom being your map.
Ok, get this - you slide your left across across the lower touch screen to turn, and do the forward/back/strafe left and right with the D pad. Right shoulder fired the guns.
So yes, it emulated the WASD/mouse control of PC FPS's. The graphics were closer in quality to a PSone than an N64. Textures looked pixelated rather than smooth. I'm sure it has a further draw distance than the average PSone game (which was about 10 feet) but I actually expected better...
Whereas the PSP is very close to a PS2 spec and actually has a faster processor even. I dunno. I think Nintendo is still doomed. An analog controller is better than a touch screen. Wifi is cool, though, but doesn't the PSP have that as well?
Check out Best Buy! Thoughts?

I have just come back from EB playing the DS, and it was awesome
!!!!!!!!! Graphics were pretty good and the touch screen controlling in Metroid was good too. It was smalller than I thought, but that's a good thing! anyway, I can't wait 'till next sunday!!!!!!!!!!
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

well, I played the survival training mission thing, and I beat the boss (it was like a dark samus......). there was only the nomal beam plus missles but I'm pretty sure it will have at least one other beam. anyway, it was still very fun
