SNES region setting

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

SNES region setting

Post by Extreme_Jesus »

Quick question:

Is there a way to switch the region setting on a SNES?

Import mod 1
Import mod 2

What region are you in, and what region do you want?

Mind u, the lockout chip is in a different position on my SNES, also from that pic i can see that board has a few less chips on it

Oh, that's a good idea.

I don't know if the NTSC SNES will output in PAL with a PAL game in it, interesting...

Hah. Go Northern Hemisphere! Woot!
And if you're getting a PS1 screen, why wouldn't you just hook it up normally. Unless you want it to hook up to a TV or something...

Extreme, you're going to have loads of trouble getting a SNES mini over here (is British also). The only ones around are american ones on ebay, and they're hard to come by and very expensive.

I've got 2 spare PAL SNES's which I'm going to mess with to see if it's possible to cut down the circuitry to turn those into portables, as I've near given up on finding a SNES mini.

Good luck with finding one, but you're going to have a hard (or expensive) time.

Yes, it is a word, but it's spelt wrong.

P O R T A B L I Z I N G

v. - The act of changes one's state to that of a portable device.
:P

Make sure to get the official screen, not a repackaged one in a different case. Verge SUCKS

verge doesn't suck :P . the only bad things are 1) the slots at the bottom need to be soldered to to use it because that's not how verge connected it 2) the speakers are hard to get out and 3)the headphone plugs get in the way

But you see...I'm Canadian.

My Verge screen is undergoing a serious stroke or something. At least it's heart is still pumping...

And all I did was LED mod it. and that's not even the problem. So I guess you could say I opened it and it messed up.
