starting a GOAC GenMobile

Post by dragonhead »

alright, ive decided to forego my projector project until a later date and use the screen for something else. im goin to build myself a genesis portable using a radica genesis, a 5" sony screen, and an old flowpoint router case.

i have the screen and case. i just need the radica to tear apart. i was wondering, are the red and blue radicas the same inside with just different roms? or are they physically different?

also, on the psone screen, where is the headphone port soldered to? i pulled it off and i cant remember where it goes. Also, i have a few 7805s and was wondering which pin was which on those. and what its input/output voltages were.

thanks guys!

For your headphone jack, you could always hook into the speaker wires if you can't trace back to where it's dedicated spot is (that's what I did on my nes). and on the 7805 - I'm assuming you're looking at it with the leads pointed down, and the writing up - the left lead is the unregulated input, it accepts 7-35 volts. the middle lead is the ground. the right lead is the regulated +5 volt output.

yeah i could do that with the headphones, but it would blow out the speakers in them.

i'd rather use the dedicated circuit on the board.

as for the 7805, thanks man. i was thinking of using a base 7.5 battery and using a 7805 to run the radica.
i broke the cold cathode tube in my lcd.... so im going to need to get some white LEDs...
