Analog sticks died!?

Post by atkafighter »

Hello,
I recently finished my PSP and I'm running into problems. The analog sticks worked fine for a while, but now it seems they are inactive. In Ape Escape the stick seems to be stuck in upper right corner (Spike runs around in clockwise circles). The left analog stick is probably stuck in the same position. As soon as you start Spike swings his club at about 2 'o clock and then runs in clockwise circles.
There is no problem with games that do not reqire analog sticks (Tekken works great), but the analog sticks seem to have died. Anyone know what to do?
Thanks

Well I checked for bridged pins, theres nothing wrong. Here is what I did.

As you can see I wired the pins from the PCB to the control board making sure to do it correctly. I even tried diffrent analogs (from another controller), but nothing works.
Do you think it could be because I don't have the ground pins connected? They are pins that shield the analog housing, and I didn't connect them to the board.

Does ape escape need the controller in analogue or digital mode?

Ape Escape automatically switches it into analog mode. Pushing the button does not make the analog light go off.
