How do I get the rom chip off of the board?

You know, you should search for this kind of stuff. Anyway, just desolder off the rom chip, which is rather hard. But SBF found a way (WRITTEN IN THE FRONT PAGE, RIGHT HERE) to just cut the traces. :) But really, search.

on the right hand side of the black blob is a via, this needs to be cut as well.

so basically cut all the lines on the chip, all the vias, desolder any solder blobs and cut any vias underneath them.

I'll have to post a pic in a couple of days.

Thanks a lot. I got it off, but i had a little problem, some of the white lines are
peeled up and I'm wondering if its possible to still solder to them. (I'm a noob
if you haven't noticed.)

Just keep going with it and if you screw up oh well, It will be one of the many mistakes that will happen. Don't worry about not searching just remember next time, Demonofaj usually never searches anyway. :wink:
