Can't paly games on my ps3

I have done a playstation laptop. But it haven't a blu ray drive, just the drive board. Anyway, of some reason it doesen't work to play games (demos from psn and such stuff) on it. XMB works very well but when I have download a game, installed it and then press play everything turn black. Can't do anything except reboot it. Do anyone know have to solve this? Is it because I don't have the blu ray drive?

Well if no body else answer try a factory default, just backup your data first.

Have you tried hooking the actual drive back up reassembled? Try it then. If it still doesn't work you have a bigger problem with software and such.
