7805 burn out?

Post by atkafighter »

Hi,
Just finished wiring up my snes and i tried connecting the screen to the 7805. I think i may have done it backwards now the snes won't power up. Did i fry the 7805 or the whole snes? Is this easily fixable?
Thanks

It is a hip gear screen. The SNES won't power up (no led) but the hip gear screen comes on now that i have the connection correct. Do I just need to replace the 7805?

Sorry double post, but I have been told that all i have to do i jump a fuse. Ill post pics later but I'm pretty sure i have the fuse jumped correctly. My board is an older board with the black fuse in a gap in the pcb. There are some large solder points on either end so I just attached a small wire to each side of the fuse. Is this the correct way to jump the fuse? I have tested it and it has not worked, but it may be because I relocated my cartridge slot. I will check for bad connections and update my progress.
Thanks
