VZW file transfer software?

Post by stuntpenguin007 »

Is the software they use in verizon wireless stores to transfer contacts, pictures, etc. available to people outside of the store? I just got a ZTE salute, and I figured out that I'm unable to take pictures off of it. I'm also unable to put games converted by meboy on it ;). Drivers for the phone don't seem to exist, and bitpim doesn't support it. When I was in the verizon store, they asked me if I wanted to transfer pictures and contacts to my new phone. When they went to do it they took my new phone and my old phone into a different room and did it. I'm assuming they used a computer to do the transfer.

Have you tried emailing the stuff to/from your phone?

Not yet, but won't that bring up data charges? My plan has unlimited texting, but I'm not sure if that includes picture messaging and other data sent over email.

Quite possible that there will be charges, but if your phone isn't compatible with the downloading software that's out there for USB, it may be your only option.
