Please list what this is of the PS2 Controller? Please

Hello, this is my first account on here, and my first time ever being on these forums. I am only 13, but I am making a PS1 portable. Before I do that I would like to know the components of the PS2 controller, as I am having a little trouble figuring out what these 2 metal shaped things are.. Here's an image, could you please describe what it is? I think it is the rumble function, but am not sure.
