Joytech 8inch Digital LCD Slimline Monitor - Usable?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Joytech 8inch Digital LCD Slimline Monitor - Usable?

Post by Fin9ers »

Hey people,

I'm after a fairly large screen for a ps2 laptop i have planned.

But after searching through many of the threads here i couldn't find anything larger than 5 inches or so.
So i had a look around to see what i could find out there on the web, and came across the 'Joytech 8inch Digital LCD Slimline Monitor'

Amazon Listing:

Now i know it says 'digital' in the title and that digital screens are outta the question with portables. But if it was ment for a ps2 then it must have av/composite functionality.

The picture pretty much looks the way i wanna make the ps2 laptop. So I'm gonna buy it, no doubt about it. lol

Would it work? Any thoughts?

I will post up some shots of it disassembled as soon as Ive got it

Its very possible that you could use that screen. As it may have a composite video input considering its designed for a PS2 console.

Can't say that we have any info on proper wiring for you on that screen. So..........you could take the risk and test it......
