can you cut down the expansion pack?

I was looking at my expansion pack and wondering if I can cut the top off? It looks like the top is just a ground anyways and if I leave enough it should be ok, right? If I cut off the parts out lined in red, the pack should still work fine... I think. Does anyone have any thoughts? Here's a couple pics:

You can remove that. leave a sliver of the ground though.

That's what I thought. As long as everything is grounded, it should be ok.

Could you give me a vertical measurement for that after it's cut down?

All said and done, it should be about 1.25" rather than 1.6". It's not much, but it'll make a difference since I really don't want to take the time to relocate the expansion pack
