CTFan's Sega Neso!

Post by CronoTriggerfan » Sat Aug 11, 2007 7:57 pm

Yep, it's finally done, my Genesis Portable, dubbed the Sega Neso! :D (An e-cookie to anyone who can guess why.) I'm pretty proud of it, this is my first real experience using bondo and such, and I'm happy with the results. I learned a lot and am fairly confident that my next attempt will be damn near perfect!

A few features...
Uses a HipGear screen, with volume, color, contrast, and brightness pots
LED modded screen
6-button controller
GameBoy Color D-Pad
~10 hours of battery life
Genesis 3 mobo
Dual power switches, the second controlling only the screen and controller, for maximum battery life
3.5mm Headphone Jack
2 player port, 1 player external jack

Coming soon!

Hope you guys like it! Though the Genesis isn't exactly my favorite system out there, this is probably my favorite portable that I have made so far. The case feels much more solid, and the wiring job G-Force did for me ensures that it'll last a good while! Leave your comments here, and thanks for looking!

Looks nice, but does the game get in the way when playing? And what kind of batteries?

I was thinking the same thing Vskid :P Nice portable! I really like it. And you had to put in that GB D-Pad thing, as something Nintendo had to be on it... :D . you lose points for having it done by G-Force, but I understand you hate the ribbon cable... and while messing with it, you accidentally dropped your Genesis  . It's awesome still.

And I have no idea why you named it the neso...

Nice! I like the GBC D-pad. That was the first D-pad I ever owned. *reminisces*

What's with the Serial/VGA/whatever they are ports? :?

External controllers

As said before, the cart would seem to be in the way, but it looks sweet.

Nice job man, i like the look of it. It suits the Genesis well. Does the Genesis Cartridge cast a shadow over the screen at all? It just look like it kinda would.

If you were standing above a light, it would... It is very unlikely because the cart is below the screen...

If your computer is upside down, then yes... (I think so...) seeing as you thought the cart was on top of the screen...)
