Alu+paint+plastic?

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

Alu+paint+plastic?

Post by sammy »

I've painted my aluminium case today, but my dad said you would notice any creeses really fast. So he gave me this plastic spray. I tried it out on some wood and it didn't work that well.

I don't want any creeses in my case so the plastic would be nice, but will it work? Has anybody tried something like this before? Thanks

Well, you don't know the effect that it will have on aluminum as opposed to wood. I would suggest spraying a bit on the back corner of the case and letting it dry. Then if you don't like it you could sand it off.

ok you got two option if the plastic spray doesn't work

1)texture paint, sprays in klumps and an be sanded down, multiple layers =smooth paint surface

2) paint in multiple layers, each time sanding the case down ill it is smooth, NOT GONE!, but smooth, the more layers you gt the less chance of creasin, also it doesn't matter on the first few coats since it will be sanded smooth anyway!
