http://www.geocities.com/robivy64/Welcome.html or http://www.gamesx.com/misctech/n64oc.htm I did it to my PAL black one and it worked fine but then the pins snaped of the CPU and I cant reatach them, moral of the story is tape things down or be a fool

You can do it on a black one? It was saying you can't because the motherboard is to old.

I was going to try and leave the pins in and just solder wires to those pins. On that wire I was going to put a toggle switch. Would this work so I could switch between regular speed and 125 mhz. (It sounds like 180 mhz makes the screen go odd and doesn't work).

You have to lift the pins off the PCB so they arn't receving their normal signal from the board (3v or ground) and then add the switches.
=/= * =\=
|_| |* | |_| (ignore the *'s)
1 23*1 2 3
1 is connected to Gorund. 2 is connected to the pin on the CPU. 3 is connected to 3volts. The switch moves either left or right making a connection between either 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 then you can choose wether to have it overclocked or not. easy as that :D.

Also I saw the idea for adding a hard drive in the playstation and thought why not try it for the N64. Maybe you could make something like the happy cart for the Atari 2600. What do you guys think?

not only would you need to make the interface, but you'd also have to know how to program a gui and other things for the n64.
I'm sure you could do it, but it'd be too much work for most people.

The N64 does already have a secondary portion for games. It is the N64 D(isk)D(rive). It sat below the N64 and had ungoddly big carts. It was only realeased in Japan. If you out there want to add on the the N64 with something (thats requires programming) try finding the SDK it shouldnt be illegal and easy to find(if anyones still sharing it)
