I don't think there are any systems that can run off a 9v battery for longer than a few minutes.

Would it be considered cheating if I bought this screen, mated it to the original xbox case and moved some parts around (HDD where DVD drive was and Battery where PSU was)?

Hmm...Well, that would probably work but you probably wouldn't win due to lack of work/time and originality. As long as you had a built in controller (unless you put a keyboard on it, which works great for an xbox) that worked.

Im just not going to submit my project seeing as I'm having to argue with you guys to fully comprehend your loose "make 'em up as I go along" rules.

BTW: I do think you should have made the rules more specific instead of adding them each time I ask a question

Just build it how you want and then submit it. If anyone doesn't like it because you don't want to hold an xbox for hours at a time, then thats their problem.
