Digi-key does bulk sales, and Mouser Electronics probably does too. But yeah, ask the NESDev people beforehand, so you know what you need and what you're getting.

Well, Ive been reading through this topic for the past few days and I have no idea as to how to go about all this.

First off, where do I get the supplies needed?

Can I use a mario cartridge for the cartridge, or must it be a specific one?

Would I be able to put any nes game on the eeprom? or eprom?

Which is better, eeprom or eprom?

How much could this cost me?

Im very curious cause this would be a perfect addition to my nes collection. Ive already looked at nesdev, bipro.com, and Kevin hortons page, but none of that has helped. If you guys could answer these questions, I would be very grateful. Thanks.

As mentioned before you need to have a different mapper cart for each mapper they have. You can burn any game to eprom as they all are on similar if not same type of rom. Everyone else can fill in the other blanks.

eprom burners cost around $50 on ebay. You can get the needed chips for less than $5 each. The only thing is that you need to use a board with the same mapper as the rom you're burning needs.

Eeproms are better because they dont need a uv light to erase: They are erased by electricity.

I wonder if a small EEPROM could be used for game saves instead of a battery pack and the ROMs....That would stop the saves from disappearing when the battery dies....

Put that EEPROM programmer inside the NES and use the unused pins on the NES to program the EEPROM. ^^

but what about games that use the pins. How in the hell are YOU going to control and eprom burner it would only work with games YOUR games.
