I seen the picture of the power regulator board you posted, and you have 5 wires conected from that to the main board. Do you have a close up of it so everyone can see it better, or maybe label it so everyone can do the same mod? Also do you know witch pin-out are the 1.9v, 3.4v, 5v and 12v.

quote="Gamelver"]bit of bad news........my power regulator for the GC has broken :(. I' ve found one online but I'm gonna have to wait to get it in the mail ..........[/quote]

are you talking about the power regulator board that comes with the GC or is something different. And how did you mess it up...

before this, I wrote:All right here's a pinout of the power regulator voltages:

first of all here's how the power regulator board looks:

Image
all you really have to worry about are pins 12-22. pin 13 is 3.4v, pins 16-18 are 1.9v, pin 21 is 12v, and pin 22 is 5v. also you have to make sure you have ground.
here's the pins on the GC ( that box with the lines is the heatsink....I suck at paint):

Image
pins 2 and 13 need 3.4v, pins 6,7,16,17,18,19 need 1.9v, pin 10 needs 12v, and pins 11 and 22 need 5v. just make sure that the pins that I've grouped together, like 6, 7, 16, 17, 18, 19 are connected together. they should be, though.

and that's how you only need 5 wires to attach the gc power regulator board to the GC board!!!!!!!!!!!!! that "bit of bad news" was that a gc regulator had fried and so I ordered another one....

* oh yeah if you turn on your GC and you don't get any sound, try getting the 12v not from the pin on the GC power regulator, but directly from the actual GC ac adapter. I also tried that from the 14.8v li-poly battery pack and it worked fine.
today I got finished with the contoller wiring :D !!!!!!!!!!! finally!!!!!!! It was really hard to solder the wires to the controller chip, but I decided to just scrape off the white crap off the board, find out which copper traces connected to the pins I needed, and soldered to those instead. only took me 45 minutes, or so. sometime today or tommorow I'll completely finish all the wiring and on monday I hope to start working on the case. By the end of next week I hope to get the case built, and then I'll just put everything in there the week after that. and then....it shall be finished.......*goes off to dream about finishing the GCp*.......

today I finally decided to check how much amps the gc+screen needed (I didn't feel like cutting up the gc ac adapter until today....) and I found out that it needs about 2 amps. Not bad, I thought it'd be more like 2.4 or so. Anyway that should give me a little less than 2 and a half hours of battery life, which is good enough for me.

the rest of the GC wiring is just about done, too. I would've finished it earlier, but this week I was loaded with homework and stuff  and I couldn't really work on much. also one of my li-poly batteries broke.....the solder tab came off completely and I'm not about to cut up one of those batteries, especially since it smelled funny......anyway I ordered a new one and I hope to finish wiring today and tomorrow. during next week I'll be working on the case and then I can finally begin putting it all together to finish it........
another reason I haven't been doin much on the wiring lately is everytime I go to wire something up, I turn on the GC to just make sure if it is still working and then I can't stop playing it......can't wait to just finish the damn wiring!!!
If I finish the wiring tomorrow I'll post some pics.

Doesn't the Gamecube use 3.25 amps by itself?

no that's just what the ac adapter can do, 3.25 amps. I think they made it like that because of addons like the screen, GB player, stuff like that.

Your gonna be extremely lucky when you finish it. Metroid Prime everywhere you go, your almost as lucky as the guy on Ripleys who had been struck several times by lightning. I wish I had a portable gamecube...

I wouldn't necessarily call it luck. It's not a like a GCp just fell into my hands......wait a minute.......A GCp JUST FELL INTO MY HANDS!!!!!! I CAN"T BELIEVE THIS I"M.........kidding, or course :p. but yeah, Metroid Prime's a great game. I still have to beat it before I get Metroid Prime 2, though....

well, the wiring's just about done, here's a pic of (almost) all the guts arranged how I want them (and yes, that really is Halo playing on the GC. I got it to work because I'm a genius  )

Image

*sigh* I wish halo really was on the GC.....that would be so great......

So you'll have it done is what about a week?

Also, did you just overlay the halo on the pic to make it look that way?

actually it might take two weeks but I could maybe finish it in a week and a half. yeah I did overlay a halo pic onto the psone screen. I forgot how to turn off the flash on the camera, and the batteries were low so I took a few pics with the flash on and the screen was almost all white 'cause of the flash so I put the halo pic on there.
