Try adjusting the ribbon cable you disconnected earlier. A bad connection there can also cause LCD distortion.

Well, there's a fuse you can jump as a last-ditch effort. Check the screen hacking sticky.

It's now bought, and I have to wait until Monday to get it

I've made a wiring diagram for the power circuit, but I'm not sure if its 100% correct.

And I know that the dc-dc converter says 3v, but mine is s 3v one, because I couldn't get a free sample

EDIT: i'm not to sure about the placement of the resistor either :o

works fine now, same computer. weird.

anyways. you need a diode on your inductor.

yeah, i decided that because it would be slightly less complicated, and (i'm not sure on this, but what the hay :D ) i gives it longer battery life.

I've already set up the power for the screen, which was working fine until the screen broke. But don't worry, the battery works fine (I tested it) :D

Oh, and thanks for the link

Good news everyone. As you may have guessed from the picture, I have successfully made the screen work. It took me half an hour, but it works. There is only one problem though. My battery cannot handle the voltage. It is 0.3v under the recuired voltage, and everytime I connect it to the system, the screen filckers on, bu then it turns off.

Should I buy a 8.4v rechargeable?

And here is my wiring, but its covered up by tape. What the hay!!!

I would recommend buying an 8.4v battery pack, or just making one with some NiMH cells (example - seven 1.2v AA batteries or C batteries for more mAh) and possibly getting a 7808 to regulate the voltage for the screen, because you don't want to get too high over the 7.5v needed.

Hey! I'm back! :D

It's been a year, and not much has happened since then (you can check my freewebs site for all the updates).
Anyway, onto buisness.
I now have my screen running off of batteries (6 1.2v AA 2700mAh) and it works well, and just yesterday, I got the console running off of batteries too! I didn't solder the wires onto the board, though. I just placed them in the power socket at the back to test if it would work.

Although, there has been a slight problem. The screen is turning on, but not recieving the video or audio signals. I did bridge the connection from the back round to a pin on the front ( with my hands, not solder  ) and the backlight turned on, but still no signals getting through.

Any ideas? :?:
