Okay, so you'll all know what's up in a matter of minutes... I'm waiting for something. Nobody will probably read this before I get it up, so I don't really know why I'm posting this I suppose, but it'll be up for everyone to see by the time most of you wake up. :)

I guess I lied, because I said I'd have this ready by the end of the 15th. Technically it's 4:00 in the morning the next day... but must we nit-pick...? Image

EDIT 3: Okay, we're *edited out* there! :P I can disclose the big secret now... I'm starting a video blog! :D No, that's not it... I wouldn't do that unless I had something else to say that was also important, so, watch to find out what's up! 8)

Well I'M up, and I'M waiting for it to process the videos ;)

EDIT: Well I just watched part one. (Woo! First time I've ever been the first person to ever watch a Youtube video) And although like you said you are a little long-winded about some things, I'm excited to see what you come up with. Congrats on finding the funding, and R3ason, kudos to you for supplying it.

And now I'm eagerly awaiting parts 2 and 3 to see what you have to actually tell us about the project!

Bed time now. *yawn*

Sorry, there won't be much else to say about the project itself, mostly about my preparations for it. My next video, once I get the Digikey parts, will be all about the history of the project, what it does, what is still to come of it... etc...

Part 2 is processing, and part 3 just finished exporting, so I'll be uploading that one now...

Edit: All done; enjoy! Image Oh, by the way, it's 6:00 AM now, and I'm sick, so I've got to go to bed now... I'm not going to check the videos. I'm sure the audio is on-sync and everything shows up just fine. If it doesn't I'll fix it tomorrow... 'Ought to be fine... I uploaded them as FLVs...

Part 3 is not currently working as in yourtube thinks it does not exist. Part 1 + 2 were really good though. And I too will thank r3ason as things as nice as that are hardly ever heard of (waiting for triton to go on about how cennar gave him that pocket tv) getting this project where it needs to be. If the boards ending up costing $100 like you said I am extremely interested.

Hopefully I can drive that price down quite a bit. I'll be paying around $30-40 just for the circuit board through Sparkfun! That's because it's only 1 board. If I can order, say, 10 at a time (once you guys place your orders :D ), that should be cut if half or more.

After I get the prototype built, I will look into some other cost cutting solutions as well...

Oh, and part 3 seems to be working fine ATM. :?

Okay, now I really have to go to bed... *Quarter to 7:00 AM* Image

Well it wasn't working when I tried. Also what is the average size for a gc iso?

Nice. I have the same soldering station :) I don't like it because the soldering head breaks easly.

Oh, and almost the 17th here, living in the world of tomorrow :P
Nice to see things progressing still, hope you can solder those boards well enough

When you get the PCB layout done, just post a high-res PNG here and I'll see if I can get some of my EE friends to look at it also.

Glad you have some motivation again :)

Just finished watching all three. I'm really looking forward to when you start piecing it together - it will be interesting to see how closely the actual hardware matches their design specs.

Average? Hard to say, but depending on how Destop's HDD ISO loader program works, it may just partition the drive into 1.35GB chunks anyway (making the actual size of the game irrelevant).

...Do they? I hadn't heard of that before... :? Well, we'll see, I guess.

Hehheh, maybe I should have shaved first... but, I personally think the facial hair adds a bit of ruggedness, which I feel is necessary with the long hair 'n such. :P

Sweet, thanks! :) What layers should I have enabled when I export the snapshot? Or should I just upload the Eagle design files?

...I promise you I'm not that guy.

It's good to see I've raised overall interest with this. Shortly after I get the parts from Digikey, I'll be posting the second blog. This one should be far more interesting, as it will have to do with the project itself. I also plan to show a demonstration of the soldering iron so you guys can see that it is perfectly capable of handling the project, and also that I actually know HOW to solder. :P I've successfully desoldered and resoldered (what I believe to be) a 201 SMD capacitor, so I 'ought to be able to handle just about anything. The first blog was pretty much just about me and my new stuff, I suppose. :P But, I figured you guys might want to see what kind of equipment I'll be working on this with, and also my hairy face. Wow. I've been following this thread since it started, but my damn gmail address didn't let me register to help out. I guess it's a bit late now, but I am here to offer my assistance.

The main problem is that I live in the UK, but I'm perfectly capable of providing engineering assistance, I'm doing A-levels in physics and maths and an Electronics course on the side, so I kinda know my stuff... Sorta.

I can also provide money :D

Apologies if I'm too late, I'm definitely buying one of these things, no matter the price. I'm a bit of a Nintendo nut and consequently I have modified my Gamecube a hell of a lot, not much by your standards, but to my friends it is a lot.

I'm not here for flaming; I'm trying to offer as much assistance as possible.
