I looked at my sig the other day, and noticed that I had jumped about 12 000 views, and couldn't figre out why, untill I noticed that this thread had thousands of views.
Are you sure it's not 27 mHz? 27 is muchmore common, however you're at your own risk overclocking your cart.
IMHO Yoshi's island doesn't need to be overclocked.
In fact, it would probably mess up the game (the game is hard coded to run at one speed, unlike the 3d games)
I don't currently own a SNES and I've never played the game you speak of, but I'm almost willing to go out and buy everything just to see the difference before and after.. awesome work. Can't wait to see if you go even higher.
I had a brilliant idea! Why not be the psycho to push the limit and break the barriers! I have the game "Dirt Trax FX" for the Super NES. It is already a sweet game with twice the SRAM of most FX games. (512k instead of 256k) However, I just couldn't resist the thought of an extreme overclock procedure thus I decided to jack it from the traditional 21.4 MHz to a whopping 40 MHz Did it work you ask? Of course smooth as silk and with definate frame rate improvement. The FX stayed stable and cool as well. Now if only I could get this game to stretch full screen instead of having those obnoxious black borders all the way around it! That would be the ultimate mod!

[Johnny sits down to play his newly modded snes.]
-cut to the living room
[Mom is baking a pie and dad is watching football while drinking a beer, when an explosion comes from Johnny's room]
"What the copulate was that," said dad.
"Are you okay Johnny," asked mom.
[Johnny walks out of his room covered in sut]
[Audience laughs]
oo good times! Yes I know I'm crazy!
The only reason I bought an XBOX instead of a gamecube was because of the crappy zelda graphics. Now getting a rev because of Zelda graphics with no HD...irony: I think so!
