anyway back on track.

just glued in the bit that holds the dpad. still need some buttons for A, B, and C though. (see my thread in the trading post if you have anything to offer)

when the epoxy cures a bit im gonna fill the rest of the gaps in. once that has had time to cure im going to get started on filling holes and smoothing the whole case up. might as well while i wait for my screen to come in.

ok fairly large update:

got the dpad "frame" mounted in and smoothed... mostly. still needs a bit of filler and sanding.

as you can see i also filled in, smoothed, and contoured the old cart slot area and started filling the old button battery holder. i also filled in the old stylus holder on the front. but im still waiting for it to dry.

aaaaand......im still waiting for my freakin screen. i hate shipping from china

you seem to have experience with the Nomad, could you tell me why it sucks?

Also, great work so far. I really like the design too! Good job!

big. bulky, cart sticks out. battery life is aweful. screen is poor. i do like the hardware and dpad though.

Sucks about the screen, currently liking the case though, i'm curious as to how your going to fit the 3 buttons from the old controller into that case on the right side. It only looks as if the 6-button controller buttons would fit.

im not using those. im using the buttons from a playstation clone controller. (it has 1234 on the buttons instead of x, o, etc) and ill be grafting the button holes over as well and arranging them in the genesis style arc arrangement

a little progress.

i moulded in the big red power switch. needs to be sanded. (thats the big grey lump in the pics.)

mocked up the cart slot too. it made from the top of a game genie and the top of an old strider cart. it will be moulded into the back of the case.

It's looking nice now, nice idea with the controller, but I thought you'd go for the old genesis feel.

nostalgia is nice but the bizarre curve of the genesis controller is too much to deal with
