thanks guys. all the kind comments really mean a lot to me. i'm tryin to not let this completely kill all my confidence. i'm hoping to someday still make a handyduo. when that day comes, i'll make sure to post it on the forums. not to mention finish my handygear someday.

sorry to have scared so many of you, but it is important to remember just how dangerous these batteries can be. i guess i was just taking them too for granted. i should have checked all the connections better before putting it away for storage. and then checked them again as soon as i took it out.

i actually may be able to recover from this faster than i originally thought. i have some friends around here who have chipped in to help replace a good portion of what was destroyed.

i'm still just so grateful that i wasn't near it when it happened.

my spirits are already beginning to brighten. maybe i'll tinker around with something this weekend.

:)

You're my hero, chevy. Hang in there! I really do hope that you don't give up, because you are so extremely talented at this. You have an eye for design and making projects that people are interested in. It's just a frustrating setback for now.

Yeah, don't be disillusioned, things go wrong sometimes; portablizing would be boring if it were too easy! Pick yourself up and get that soldering iron out again! :D

Handyduo; a portable barely alive.
Gentlemen, she can rebuild it. She has the technology. She has the capability to build the world's first (except I don't believe it is anymore) portable Retroduo. Handyduo will be that portable. She can make it better than it was before. Better, stronger, cooler!

Very nice! What's left to do?

Way too many. I loves me some 70's cheese.

I'm curious as to how you're executing this. Is the switch 3-way (off-Nes-Snes)? Or do you have a separate switch that changes the system being used?

I have the on/off switch and then a nes/snes switch.
