Sorry to say, but if you want to use 4 rechargeable AA's, the screen will really suck. 4 AA's (4.8V) don't give enough voltage for the screen to work right. And if you want to use normal alkaline AA's that will end up costing quite a bit. So you'll need at least a 5 AA/AAA holder.
Once I get a radica, it's going straight into a Game Gear case
And I'm wondering why? Mabye our hipgears arent equal? Mine works fine with 4 rechargeables, yet yours dies after a while... I'd really like to figure this out so next time I know if its good or not before I use it.
Or mabye the batterys are different? My rechargeables pump out more than 1.2V when charged, like when you get new AAs how sometimes they give you 1.6V, instead of 1.5v...

I would love to finish the one I'm putting in my GG case, unfortunatly, I cannot get the cart slot to work. I even soldered directly onto the traces, but no luck...I have no idea what is wrong either.

Actually mine are 1.45V when feshly charged, but they drop down to 1.2V each in about 20 minutes. Perhaps it's just a difference in batterys after all...
