Yea my wife was wondering why I left the root beer cans in the background. I probably consumed a few 12-packs while constructing this portable! I've decided to take a little break from this project until Monday. So I'll probably start soldering the cartridge slot then. I may work on my website this wekend though . Thanks again for the comments.
great portable !!!! I love how you used and cut the project box ....looks very well done....the only thing that might be wrong with it is that the controls are a bit low....how does it feel when you hold it?
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Thanks, it actually feels really good, almost like a regular NES controller. I hold the bottom like its a normal NES controller and I have no complaints about it at all.
Hi, I'm new to this forum, and I have to say I love your projects so far and might create your Mega Joy Boy / gamegrrl this summer. I was wondering how you have the built in games on the nesp, did you solder in the ROM's or are using the NOAC?
Most pirate NOAC systems (like the ones we tear apart) have built in games out of the box. Sometimes they're bypassed so a cartridge can run, sometimes for simplicity's sake they are left alone.
With some bank switching hardware and ROM images stored, he made his own Atari with built in games. Just wasn't sure what he did. perhaps it is the NOAC.
(little late) Wow, Its amazing that you kept the look of the Hip Screen in the case. Its really nice and pleasing to the eye.
Hope you dont run into any problem with the cart slot.
