Intec PS2 controller with screen

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Perhaps if the 12v includes rumble, but I dont think you can get it that low.

Multiplayer with that screen! NOPE, unless you have both players on that one screen, because these screens dont divide input.

When I said the wires are hotglued, I meant they are hotglued into the controller board, otherwise you can clip them. In fact, just take out all the screws in the lcd(dont forget that grounding wire! Its in the back, but you guys know what to do), take out everything on the neck, pull the lcd as far away from the control as you can, cut the wires at the base, and voila! You have a working ps2 control and intec lcd!

Its not really 2.5 inch, more like 1 by 1.5. I hate it when they lie! Oh well, good enough for most one player consoles!

It says 2.5 on the box anyways.

Oh well, I have to see what is the lowest voltage it will take. Do you guys think I would have to convert 12v to whatever the nes uses, or would it be fine using the 7805 converter?

The regulator on the NES will automatically take it down to the right voltage. It can handle 12V.

As in 7805 regulator?

I took off everything else( the rf box thing), and am putting in a battery charger and other neat stuff.

HELP!

Post by Dark Savant0 »

Umm, not to sound like a complete idiot, but on the pinouts Shaolin put it only says where to put the positive. Do I put the negative to ground or where? Any ideas?

Also, in case anyone wanted to know, when I just connected all the power together (+ and -) the battery packs started overheating.

Of course the battery was overheating. You were short-circuiting it! NEVER CONNECT THE POSITIVE (+) AND NEGATIVE (-) ENDS OF A BATTERY TOGETHER UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE SOME EXPLOSIVE RESULTS!!!

But I'll forgive you. :) You didn't blow up, anyway.

You connect the + to the things that need power, and the - onto the ground connection.

umm.... I don't think that's what he meant, I think he meant he just hooked the battery up to the dc input of the screen :P

I read it as "I connected everything together at one point and the battery got hot like me barbecue." (no offense.) :(

The screen will power up with 9v. I have mine hooked up to a 6AA battery pack, witch is also going to my NOAC. Because the Megajoy has a 7805 it will take the 9v down to 5v.

Hook the red wire on the battery pack to the orange wire on the screen and hook the black wire to the black wire.

Bought the other INTEC PS2 screen. The big one. The old one is up for 25 bucks, shipping included.

The screen can take as low as 7.5 volts. As far as I know right now. I'll test lowe ones later.
