You could have used one or two 8 volt Li-Po's, which are very small and light, but you would have to of made a regulator...

i suppose i could have, but i really dont know to much about them, and besides, if a battery exists thats pretty well ideal from powering a PS2 slim (given that its essentially a portable DVD player minus the screen) i might as well use it, lol.

Although i will have to figure out some kind of power regulation for the fans that i have for the portable. my design incorporates the original fan from the PS2, the one over top of the GPU, but it also uses two smaller fans that i got out of an HD Combo (which for those of you who dont know, is a device that allows a version 12 or 13 slim to use a hard drive just the same as fat models).

They have a power board of their own, and im pretty sure they take a 5 volt input, but i dont know how to make a regulator to accomplish this. if anyone has any info i would greatly appreciate it!!!!

Just use the USB 5v line. If they're typical 40mm disk/chipset type fans then there will be plenty of capacity via USB to run them.

Yeah, that's what I have in my Xbox. A bunch of copied games, and a butt load of Emulators/ROMs, including NES, SNES, Genesis, and N64!

Except the way an XBOX modchip works is unlike PS2 or any other system. The XBOX actually allows a replacement bios to be used via a header on the mobo. Or you can flash the bios, like a PC.

well just to be clear, i only installed the mod chip because i have a few J titles that i imported, and a regular PS2 is rather discriminatory towards "outsiders" so to speak, lol.

and for those who wanted to know, its a Modbo 4.0 chip. it works in all PS2 models, and runs the matrix infinity bios.
