Re: Joystick replacement question!
Yeah, it work's fine with the original one, the controller is new, and it works fine with everything else.

Re: Joystick replacement question! (EDIT: NOW I'm confused)
SS's diagram is wrong. I don't know how it works for him, but that isn't how it is supposed to be. Do it like this.

Re: Joystick replacement question! (EDIT: NOW I'm confused)
SS's diagram is right, it doesn't matter how it is connected on the gamecube board, it has to be connected the same way the old joystick would be. If you are actually using a yobo controller, and an actual gamecube cstick, and the wires are in the correct order, then it will work 100% I did it. I know. Do you have the original board that the original n64 joystick was attached to? If so, Can you please post a picture of the back?
Simply put, connect the 4 wires back to the board(in the same order), then de-solder the original joystick, and then solder the original gamecube joystick on(it will fit, bend over the support pins) and if it doesn't work, your board is damaged.

Re: Joystick replacement question! (EDIT: NOW I'm confused)
I'm going to try a couple different ways now, hopefully I can get it to work. It's strange though, I got the controller because it looked exactly like a yobo, and palmer said it would work %100. But when I got it I couldn't find an official brand name on it.

I reatached it this way and it works perfectly in the n64, so the original one does work.

Ah, I see. That's not like any yobo I've ever used. No wonder. Sorry, if it doesn't work the way I mentioned before, its not going to work at all.

Re: Joystick replacement question! (EDIT: NOW I'm confused)
That looks identical to a yobo controller I am currently modding with a GC stick. My initial attempt to wire it up failed, and I haven't messed with it since then, but I'll post my results once I get it figured out.

Re: Joystick replacement question! (EDIT: NOW I'm confused)
I actually Decided to create a guide that's as specific as possible of where to wire it. Since there's no guide on the forums with actual pictures. I have yet to confirm if this works with ps2, or third party joysticks.

Thanks ShockSlayer for all your help!

Ironically, its basically the same thing I did, albeit I didn't label the wires on the actual controller.
Glad you got it to work!

Yea, I just didn't get the wires hooked up right. I hope it will work with the ps2 controller.
