no, he's gotta stick with the green LEDs to go with the 360's theme.

Thanks.

Have a look thru the original post over at XS, link is at the bottom of the first post here, most of what all was done is described there, but unless ya use the exact same drives I did you'll have issues crop up here and there as there are 4 different 360 drives now and ya can use just about any slot loader ya want really, just have to figure it out is all, and even then little things will for sure turn up during the whole process.

I don't plan to make any type of tutorial right now as this thing is really rough from start to finish and there are a few things I would have done differently, and as mentioned unless ya had the exact same drives there would be issues galore trying to follow it with a different setup.

Even with the exact same drives I'd have to go back and make another one from scratch as there are loads of pics of this and that to be taken that weren't on this one, stopping in the middle of an idea to take 10 pics, only 1 of which you'll actually use in the tutorial, really throws a kink into the process. ;)

Also since there are 4 different 360 drives and so many slot loaders writing up a tutorial for each one really isn't gonna happen unless there is some abundant slot loader out there that everyone could get a hold of easily, then I may consider it, but even then I'd have to do each drive and take a good week or so at least on each tutorial so the nasty was covered thoroughly enough that it could be duplicated, so for now it's nothing I'm considering getting into, sorry, but there is the possibility of it.

Once again thanks to all and the interest in this project from all over.

I've decided to change the faceplate setup as I really prefer the look of the 360 how it is, this is also the second way I had planned to do it after using the original iMac Bezel. The other faceplate I'll continue to mess with and see where that ends up, but for right now I'd like to get this one here to a more completed stage and maybe save the other faceplate and proximity buttons for the next one.

And here it is again doing it's thing..

All that's left now is to secure the Bezel a little more and then install a 'skirt' to keep dust and such out, but for the most part it's a done deal now.

It's around half the thickness of the 360 drive, but after all this is done to it that goes out the window and it's back to being as large as what a 360 drive is. It's also a shade wider and not quite as deep as well stock.
