mighty putty

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

Something else that is good to use is Polymorph. It is basically small blobs of plasticard plastic; drop into near boiling water and it melts; you can then remove it (with a spoon) and shape it in your hands. I may use some for making screw posts in my projects now. It can then be adhered to the plastic case with putty or PlasticWeld.

Ah yes.. Burnt semen. Brings back memories. /jk
I use plastic pudding of this sort, I'm note entirely happy with it,
takes a lot of sanding to get it very smooth. But I couldn't find anything else, damn Sweden..

sdh - I couldn't get mighty putty in the UK either - bought from a USA trader on e-bay who was happy to supply. E-bay is your friend.

Yeah it seems I need to use Ebay to buy stuff every other day, which is starting to bug me.
Because of it I've scrapped some projects.. But I applied for a VISA card a week ago so I guess I'll have a go soon.

Mighty Putty (Or any epoxy putty of the sort) is great. I've done everything from repairing pond liners (With the water still in it, mind you), to repairing, and flat out building my own U-bolts. Strong stuff.

But I have to disagree on it smelling like burnt semen (WTF?! How does anybody know that?). Having had extremely close personal experience with the retched creature that produces a smell that is of Mighty Putty, I know without a shadow of a doubt that it smells like skunk.

And not the good skunk smell that comes out with tomato juice. I'm talking country skunk - the kind you only have to deal with when you live in the country, like I do. The kind that will degrade a man to taking a shower with a box of powdered douche because that's the only thing in the world that will take it out.

That's what Mighty Putty smells like.

Ah, when you said "skunk" I thought you meant street cannabis!

I have never taken drugs or will; but more than 80% of everyone I see in Custody are smackheads (heroin, crack, cannabis, cocaine, ecstasy) and/or alcoholics. In spite of their "range of smells" Image , I think that regular rolling tobacco smells worse than even their stinky shoes (why don't people chuck shoes away when they get rank?). Image

Well, I'd say it's the kind of friend you don't like but still feel forced to greet sometimes.

E-bay is a goldmine for stuff, especially older items you can't get in the shops easily, or at all (eg PSone screens, etc). Only been using e-bay for 2 years, bought and sold a combined total of nearly a thousand items to date.

I haven't had any issues with E-bay or PayPal to date.

Exactly, that's the main thing I have a hard time finding, those darn screens.
I ended up with one hard to mod. I'll just have to keep lurking on Swedens auction sites for now.

Really? When I wanted a PSone NTSC screen I visited E-bay America (ebay.com) and e-mailed all the sellers who's prices were likely to be reasonable and asked if they would quote for postage to the UK. Did the same for a couple of NTSC games I bought. Why don't you do the same (is Sweden NTSC or PAL?). About 1/3 replied and quoted; bought one; a UK seller had one too (so I have two NTSC screens coming). I also have six PAL PSone screens in total (on in my Multi project, one in Mini (which will be re-cased in due course); one for my Playstation portable, one for N64, leaving a couple of spares.

Like I said, e-bay is great! Expect to pay about £30 - £40 for a PSone screen and you should be able to source some.

No, no. I don't deal in Smack. I meant the animal.
