dual analog n64 controller?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

The key word being probably. It might only work with a PSP nub. no idea.
that wouldn't exactly make it analog, though, would it? I don't know the mod you're talking about, but you can't really turn a digital signal into an anlog one. Although, I suspect if it used some kind of timer that rapidly presses the button at a rate related to how far the potentiometer is pushed, I suppose it could simulate analog controls. hmm... now that I think about that, that's pretty clever. If that hasn't been done, that could be a nifty new idea.

Pulse Width Modulation... I had that thought about half-way through your post... That is a very smart idea, but how well it works will likely depend on the game...

Here's an Instructable on super-easy PWM with a 555 timer.

Reading about the Razor X...
Well, it doesn't seem like it's doing, uh, anything. Anything special at least.
It's not really analog.

It's, well, an analog stick yeah.
But all it is, is just, 4 Normally Open switches.
Push it up, it closes one switch.
Same for the other directions.
It gives you the "feel" of an analog stick.
But it's nothing more than your normal everyday, uh, well, D-Pad.

So, yeah.
That's about it.

Push it up, same as pushing the "Up" button.
That's about it.

Totally doable for the N64.
And I hope it is done! Replace the C-Buttons with an analog stick.
I'd enjoy that.

Not familiar with Pulse Width Modulation. I'm just now getting into amplitude and frequency modulation. What does it do and how would it help us?
