Got back case done today. Take no notice of the overall finish for now. Loads of priming to do.
Going to make a case/cover for the GDrom and cdrom. Other than that, making some good progress.
I did it this way because i figured, the closer i can get the cd to the actual body, the smaller it will be.

Niiice! That's a great idea, putting the GD-ROM like that. It looks super-sleek.

I'm positive they are. You can get a great view in the first picture; those are definitely the PS1 screen hinges.

That's incredibly clever! You have an eye for design that I envy.
May I beseech thee for expository photographs of thine case mold and vacuum forming apparatus?

Thine photograph has beseeched thee.
The vac former is only A4 sized though. May make a bigger one if i need one.

You guys are funny.
That's a clever vacuum-forming table. It looks really effective, because of the small box size and that the vacuum is directly attached. Nice job.

Wow, nice so far, I jsut wonder how you gotta connect the ribbon cable to the gd-rom board, as I think timing is crucial for this part of the assembly, but it's outstanding I must say.
You make me wanna start back working on mine

AAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrgh, dont say things like that. Is this true or an assumption? Ive not actually tested it yet with the gdrom as it is.

Lookin' great Techknott! This is one of the most creative, yet intuitive case designs I have seen thus far! Can't wait to see the finished product.

Well I've tried to do an extender for my DCp back in the days were I had enough free time to post here AND work on my DCp (college = 28hours of work a day now ...).
Nothing ever booted on the console with it attached and extended, however I noticed afterwhile that a wire was *maybe* not connected properly.
I personnally really hope it'd works btw.
Also, a revision 2 dreamcast got no gd-rom board but a way longer ribbon cable for the gd-rom unit, so you could use of of these DC instead to fit your design. (if timing is important they adjusted it according to the long wire in the rev2 DC).
Good luck for this btw, it's one of the most clever and original way to do a portable I've ever seen !

Progress has been a little slow due my screen going kaputt. So ive done a little work on the case and actually testing the dreamcast. The gdrom doesn't seem to have any issues regarding timing btw.
