Only if you troll bacteria, only if you troll...bacteria wrote:What is it with Engadget - the people who post replies on there are complete idiots, and not in a good way. They seem to have a contest to see who is the most stupid poster; many apply, many succeed.

What do you mean NixonTech2071? I presume you refer to the comments posted on Engadget articles as trolls??
Negative_Creep - Surely you don't mean that is the norm? Someone spends weeks making something, gets it posted on some decent sites, then have to endure stupid kiddie comments about cookies and other stupid irrelevant nonsense? I agree that seems to happen a lot, however it is very disrespectful.

OMG?! I read the comments on engadget, only a handful address the portable in the article, and about half of those were positive. Are these people so stupid or want-a-be trendy that they have to condemn it for trivial reasons.
Really who cares if it's not ergonomic? Hell I don't even see ergonomic keyboards anymore.
NES too old to talk about? Was that person someone that grew-up on the Xbox or something?
For crying out loud, the guy crammed an NES into a light-gun! Made it so you only have to flip it over and you have the standard controller buttons. It's that enough?[/rant]

I am a geek.
Here is your explanation (mouse over the image and read the alt text, too). Basically, the internet is anonymous, so people like to pretend they're cool.bacteria wrote:What is it with Engadget - the people who post replies on there are complete idiots, and not in a good way. Oh it is. It's best to stay away from most places on the internet in all fairnessbacteria wrote:Negative_Creep - Surely you don't mean that is the norm? Indeed. I had the same issues when my system was posted in several sites - people seem obsessed about shades of colour (beauty is in the eye of the beholder) and don't seem to accept that if you spend time making buttons and joysticks in the right place for your hands to use properly that the system works comfortably because it has been designed to work the best you can make it. People like the idea I had and generally see the benefits, but it amazing to see lots of unrelated and stupid comments which have no point to them (like "why not get an emulator on a PSP instead" or other stupidity). It is a necessary evil though, as having your work on such a site gets lots of hits to your project site, which after all is a big incentive.Sparkfist wrote:OMG?!
