Lol they mention Ben on that website. That made me smile - I think they know their customers a little too well.

Fifteen dollars, though? I suppose it comes down to just how much the extra battery life is worth to you. The setup sure does look easy. They even say on the site it's made for switching with the 78XX series.

Maybe I'll get one when I finally get around to finishing a PSOne portable - y'know, something that's a real battery drainer.

I think I fried the motherboard!
I inserted the battery backwards and now it won't turn on at all.
Has this happened to anyone else? Can I fix it by replacing the 7805 chip?

i did the same thing, mine didnt pop but i noticed a small black mark after the 7805 so i doubted replacing the 7805 would do it.

Thanks for the advice.
Mine didn't pop or have marks on it afterwards so I think replaceing the 7805 will do it.

if you took off the NES board portion could it still be used? If so what would you need to make it?

well the snes worked fine even after i fried the nes part. im pretty sure you could follow the guide lines in the other threads for removing the noac board and it should work just fine.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear, I was in a rush, the bell had just rung and my teacher was yelling at me.

When you said :

You reminded me of this:

If one took the NES portion off, and it everything still worked, would one be able to use the NES board in another project?
(and how would one do it?)
