So the problem was with the formatting program ? Can you please check if msinst.exe and msipl.bin are the same as these ?
msinst.exe
Size - 32.0 KB (32,768 bytes)
MD5 - 4658d3c6f3f97104d5810e2346ebe31c
CRC - D507DDCB
msipl.bin
Size - 236 KB (241,664 bytes)
MD5 - 142cc4e18edd07f2544793a1cbb43920
CRC - 667A07AF
Can it be possible that the files from iam's archive are different ? Will you please use QuickSFV (from www.quicksfv.org) to check the hashes and compare them to the ones from the Pandora's GUI v1.5 ?
Oh, and someone over at psp-hacks (wisepanther) said something about debrise: (?)
PS. IF YOU MAKE THIS BATTERY AND IT WILL NOT BOOT UP TO THE PANDORA'S BATTERY MENU THE MOST PROBABLE CAUSE IS THAT THERE IS A SMALL AMOUNT OF DEBRISE NEAR THE PINS ON THE BOARD BY THE CHIP YOU JUST PULLED THE LEG UP ON. CLEAR THAT UP UNDER BRIGH LIGHTING (AND BORROW YOUR GRANDMA'S GLASSES< BC THIS IS SMALL.)
What was that about ? Desoldering gone bad ?

Its spelled "debris" (pronounced "di-bri", both short i's), just means unwanted stuff/filth, pretty much (like after a disaster, all the junk all over is called debris). So debris in this case would be bits of solder that short the pins, so just clean it and make sure that nothing it touching anything else.DSpider wrote:Oh, and someone over at psp-hacks (wisepanther) said something about debrise: (?)

I had the same problem today.cw3383 wrote:ok. I downloaded the files to the MS and when I put the modded battery in nothing happens. Green light but nothing else.
What gives?
Instead of using "format X: /fs:fat32", I did a simple format x: and it worked!! no more "Check free reserved sector:to small reserved sectors". I have Windows XP.
Just to reconfirm
Do I need to have a 3.6m33 slim before I use your the files in your ROOT folder in your RAR iam?
Or will it work on my v3.60 OFW that I got out of the box?
I don't have to go through the 340, 350.pbp stuff to get it to 3.6M33 first?

I will post more information tomorrow when I have more time....
I think it went wrong when it didn't ask me "are you sure? Y/N" after typing "msinst X msipl.bin". It never actually completed the task. I tried several times.
So, I formatted again.
I ran the "Pandora's GUI v1.5", Then I went back and tried "msinst X msipl.bin". It now asked me "are you sure?". I said yes and it "wrote bootup code" or something.
Then I copied the files from C:\pandora\ROOT\ and put them on my MS in the Root. I also put the msipl.bin on the psp too. Not sure if I needed too I just did.
Then, once I put the battery in, it booted and asked if I wanted to load 3.77 m33!
I might not make much sense right now. Im tired. Ill talk tommorrow.

Ok I have finally opened up my battery, and found out that I have those newer batch of batteries that came with TA-82 motherboards for the PSP.
I found the chip I needed to locate, and the pins too, but I want to be sure %100 I cut the right pin..So I made a picture, sorry that its bad quality.

The green is the chip and the red is the pins, is the one i pointed to the right one to cut/solder?

First of all, my camera isnt the best and its pretty old, and its not a camera phone.DSpider wrote:Don't you know how to take a picture ? LOL 90% of the screen is the table ! Was your aim to capture the shadow of the battery or what ?? Damn... Try switching the phone's resolution to 320x240 (from "Picture size" or something like that) and press up to see if you can zoom in or out.
And the point of my post was too see which pin to cut, not to practice my phototaking skills.

I found the dot, but the dot is on the right side of the chip, right by the pin I thaught I was supposed to cut.iam7805 wrote:The photo is way too blurry. On the chip there should be a little dot on one side of the chip. If that dot is on the left side of the chip in the photo, then yes, the pin the arrow you pointed to is correct.
