So I was able to run screen and PSONE off a battery, PSONEp is somewhat COMPLETED!!!!!! But when I opened the controller, I found a mobo with the analogs, and some plastic thingy with d-pad and buttons and triggers that connected to that mobo. I spliced the plastic and couldn't solder on to it. IM SUCH A RETARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!      . Are other PSONE controller like this though, and I'll have pics soon after my dad finishes using it for his expidition on bird photography (don't ask  )

I'm sorry, but I'm having a hard time understanding what you are talking about. My guess is that you cut into the ribbon between the boards (analog, and control). In that case you should just buy another controller at EB or something ($3 tops).

Lol, thanks atka I will. But what really happened was that there was this sheet, a PLASTIC SHEET with traces on it. And I cut it. I'll get pics if i can.

This intrigues me, and I look forward to seeing the pictures. Was this a third-party controller? Or possibly one with extra functions?

i know what he means. the buttons in certain versions of the official ps1 controller used plastic membranes much like a keyboard instead of a solid pcb. just follow the traces for each button to the controller board and solder your wires directly to the board.

I made another post but with good news, PICS!

Dragonhead, that's the one, and it was somewhat of a ribbon cable, so I guess I AM screwed. Oh yeah, and it was a PSONE first party controller.

EDIT:

On the pic, see the red circled areas, can I solder wire onto them and then attach the other end to a tactile pushbutton switch.

Also, about 3rd Party Controllers, what are they like.
Is the control board just a big PCB with all the buttons and analogs on it. :P :?:

i wouldnt solder there, you can but you have to scrape the black stuff off, i would cut down the board so it fits better solder the traces after you scrape some of the green stuff off of them

IDEA TIME:

So I gutted a 3rd party controller today, and it calibrates my needs. BUT there is tooooo much wire, the one that connects the controller to the control port. Can i do this, splice the wire and then reconnect it to make it smaller. :?:
