PSoneA concept picture!

Post by MM007 » Sat Sep 11, 2004 3:56 pm

Here is a concept picture of my portable PSone design. I draw it with a mouse, and LOVE how it turned out. Below it is a sheet of PSone buttons, joystick, switches, and lights which you guys can use to make your own PSone portable design pics if you want to. Feel free to use the sheet!

This design allows my modifications to be attached as a module, meaning no messing with the actual system and screen! ^^ I like to use my portables as consoles still if I can, and you won't fry your system/screen if you fail.

Feel free to use this sheet of buttons, switches, etc. when making concept pics of your own PSone portables!
Tell me what you guys think!

Edit: Aw, Man! I can't use angelfire to host images apparently....I need to find a different free host for my images...

Edit 2: Okay, just copy and paste the URLs to view the images. ^^

Nice drawing man! That was my original idea for my PS Portable years ago... I didn't have all that stuff around the controller buttons to make it look smooth or nothing, i just split a contoler down the middle, and attched it to the console... I haven't actaully done it, but I had that same idea.

yeah that's a nice design but the buttons are kind of disproportional. what I mean by that is that they're bigger than normal psone conrtoller buttons are. The analog sticks are also huge, they're as big as the on/ off and reset buttons on the psone!!!!!!!!
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

Well, that's just a concept picture. The buttons are smaller, and I'm too poor for CNC, I think, and not enough room for a vacuum forming table.

I'll probably use some nice tupperware. ^^

You buy sheets of ABS, Plexiglass or lexan and hand build a case like bens. You make a box with it.

That would probably require a router and a routing jig, or some other consistent means of cutting the plastic, and the lots of blue :P

I was just looking at the two PSOne concepts at doomportables, and I was thinking that the concepts would look better if they could incorperate that twisting neck (like camcorder lcd's) so that the screen would sit on top of the PSOne. I know it would require a lot of work, but it would give the finished producted a much lower profile and it would have a more professional look to it.
